René Caron began his long career on stage when he was just 14-years-old. He was always up for whatever was on. He could sing, be a presenter, and in a multitude of roles on stage, screen and television he usually played the “good guy.” In radio, Caron worked in Sherbrooke and in Rouyn-Noranda. He then moved to the French powerhouse AM station in Montreal, CKAC, and performed in drama for the CBC. With the advent of television, Caron was well placed to become one of the early pioneers of the medium in his home province of Québec. René Caron is best known for his role as Todore Bouchonneau, which he played from 1960 to 1970 in Les belles histoires des pays d’en haut.
