Merit Jensen Carr`s production company, Merit Motion Pictures, has produced a wide range of international documentary programs and series. From in depth current affairs to biography and lifestyle series, from observational documentary to history and science programs, Jensen Carr is passionate about producing programs that expand our knowledge of the human condition and the natural world.She has earned numerous achievements and awards. In 2009 the documentary, The Secret World of Shoplifting, directed by Andy Blicq, received the highest ratings in the history of CBC`s leading documentary strand, DOC ZONE. In 2010 Jensen Carr and Emmy Award-winning producer, Vonnie Von Helmolt, co-produced TutuMUCH, a feature documentary which had one of the largest documentary theatrical releases in recent Canadian history. She is also known for producing the two time Gemini Award-winning series Recreating Eden, a 65 part documentary about how connecting with nature has transformed the lives of people and communities around the world. In April of 2013, Toronto`s Hot Docs festival announced that Merit Jensen Carr had been named recipient of the prestigious Don Haig Award.
