Sarah Carter grew up a dedicated dancer and took part in various school plays including The Wizard of Oz, in which she played Dorothy. She was also a member of the debate team, which allowed her to travel all over the world. After graduation she took a year off to see Europe, then joined the Ryerson Theatre School in Toronto, where she was discovered while performing a monologue. She landed her first guest appearance on TV but within a year had made the leap tp the big screen when she was cast in the psychological thriller Mindstorm. Sarah Carter played the role of Margaret in 50 episodes of the Steven Spielberg sci-fi series Falling Skies.
