Suzanne Bird, a young Cree woman, goes missing in Toronto, where she went after leaving the remote Northern Ontario town she grew up in, to become a successful model. Up north, her uncle Will (Brandon Oakes) clashes with a local drug dealer who believes Will knows her whereabouts. Through Black Spruce was directed by Don McKeller.

Metamorphosis
The documentary Metamorphosis looks at the scale of the global environmental crisis. Forest fires consume communities, species vanish, and entire ecosystems collapse. Economic growth, tied to increased speed of resource extraction, has created a machine with the capacity to destroy all life. But the filmmakers point out that this crisis is also an opportunity for transformation.
