(February 1, 2022 – Toronto, ON) Born in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and in Canada since 1964, Ardon Bess began his acting career after graduating from the National Theatre School in 1968. He is the first Black actor to attend and graduate from the famed Montreal school. Bess is perhaps best known for appearing in one of the Heritage Moment television commercials about the 1958 Springhill mining disaster portraying the only Black survivor, Maurice Ruddick.

He is pictured in the title role of Joe Louis: an American Romance, by David Sherman, at Infinitheatre, which ran from January 25 to February 20, 2011.
