Born in New York as Barbara Zuckerman, Babs, or usually Babz Chula, grew up in California. She made her home in British Columbia for decades. The multiple-award winning actor died after battling cancer for many years. She was first diagnosed in 2002 with Breast Cancer and had a mastectomy but the cancer returned in 2008 while she was also battling non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma of the blood which had been previously diagnosed in 2005.
