Multi-award-winning director Jerry Ciccoritti has so far had to find room for seven Gemini Awards, two Canadian Comedy Awards, an award and two nominations from the Director’s Guild of Canada, and a Genie nomination. Ciccoritti became active in amateur drama in high school and was one of the founders of Buddies in Bad Times theatre in 1978 and of the Rhubarb Theatre Festival in 1979. He attended the film program at York University but dropped out to find work in the then burgeoning Toronto film industry. In 2009 Ciccoritti received a Gemini Award for his work on the made-for-TV movie, The Terrorist Next Door. He is pictured above with a 2013 Canadian Screen Award for his work on the television biopic, John A.: Birth of a Country.
