Daniel Roby began his career with degrees in filmmaking from Montréal’s Concordia University and the University of Southern California. He first worked as a director of photography on films like Hommes en 40taine, La vie rêvée de Mario and Jean François en série. Following his hit film La peau blanche, he directed Funkytown and then Louis Cyr, which were critical successes that also broke box-office records. In France, Roby first shot for the TV series Versailles, and then on the France-Canada co-production Dans la brume, which was selected to open the 2018 Fantasia Film Festival in Montréal. |
