Maria del Mar del Castillo, pictured above in a publicity still for the 2013 Breakthrough Entertainment release Looking is the Original Sin, was born in Madrid of Venezuelan parents. She grew up in Ottawa after her diplomat dad passed away during his assignment to Canada and Maria and her siblings voted to stay in this country. She was nominated for a 2001 Gemini for her role as Victoria Castillo on the series, Blue Murder. She was given the ACTRA Toronto Award in February of 2007 for Outstanding Performace for her work in TV series, Terminal City.
