Sergio Di Zio pictured above at the 2010 Gemini Special Awards party at Toronto`s Drake Hotel. He is known for his role as Mike “Spike” Scarlatti in the CTV series, Flashpoint, which wrapped a long highly successful run in 2012. In addition to his work in film and television, Di Zio is also an active stage actor. He was nominated for the Dora Mavor Moore Award for his performance in the play Leo, which he toured across the country. He also toured and starred in Governor General Award winner Wajdi Mouawad’s Scorched, later produced for the big screen as the Oscar-nominated film, Incendies. Most recently he co-produced and starred in the Toronto production of Christopher Shinn’s Pulitzer Prize nominated Dying City. The show was critically acclaimed and enjoyed an extended and sold-out run. He was also in the world premiere of Hannah Moscovitch’s This Is War, a play about Canadian combat troops on tour in Afghanistan which opened in late December 2012 at the Tarragon Theatre in Toronto. |
