André Ducharme was a member of the comedy troupe Rock et Belles Oreilles from 1981 to 1995. Like fellow member Yves Pelletier, who directed 2004’s Les Aimants, André also gravitated toward film and made his directorial debut with Camping sauvage also released in 2004. Various episodes of the highly popular TV series Rock et belles oreilles have been released on DVD.
