Sam Dunn grew up in Victoria, British Columbia and holds a BA in anthropology and history from the University of Victoria, and an MA in social anthropology from York University. His debut as a director/writer/producer, Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2005 then went on to screen at more than 40 international film festivals. It was released theatrically in more than 30 countries and Dunn was nominated for two Gemini awards for Best Direction and Best Writing in a Documentary. |
