An author and film director-screenwriter, Durga Chew-Bose was born in Montreal but later studied in the United States and spent a year at Oxford University in England. Her 2017 book, Too Much and Not the Mood is a collection of essays. She made her debut as a film director with Bonjour Tristesse, which had its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September of 2024.
