Ann Marie Fleming is a filmmaker, animator, writer, visual artist and co-founder of Global Mechanic, an animation-film-design production house in Vancouver. Of Chinese and Australian parentage, Fleming went to the University of British Columbia and has a B.F.A. (diploma in animation) from the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and the Open University, and a B.F.A. (interdisciplinary) from Simon Fraser University. She was a writer/director resident at the Canadian Film Centre in Toronto and an artist in residence at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. Fleming was a graduate film advisor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Fleming has won numerous awards including 3 “Best Canadian short” film awards from the Toronto International Film Festival. Official website. |
