William Fruet went to the Canadian Theatre School and became a prominent player on the English-Canadian film scene in the 1970s. His screenwriting credits include such films as Goin’ down the Road and Slipstream. His directorial debut, Wedding in White, won the Canadian Film Award for Best Picture in 1972 and is still considered a classic of the period.
