Mary Jane Gomes

Mary Jane Gomes moved with her family from her home in Guyana to Trinidad and then to Canada when she was about 5 years old. She became interested in film while taking a media studies course which required students to learn about film. “I fell in love with the camera from the very first day.” Prior to filmmaking, Gomes co-directed a news service covering Southern Africa. In addition to directing, Mary Jane Gomes wrote and produced Angel in a Cage.
