John Greyson is a filmmaker, video artist, writer, activist and educator whose productions have won accolades at festivals throughout the world. For example his 1998 film, Urinal won the Best Feature Teddy at the Berlin Film Festival; Zero Patience was Best Canadian Film at the 1993 Sudbury Film Festival; Lilies was named Best Film at the Genie Awards, as well as being named Best Film at festivals in Montreal, Johannesburg, Los Angeles and San Francisco. His work on the series, Made In Canada brought him a Best Director Gemini in 2002. He was also awarded the 2000 Toronto Arts Award for film/video. Born in British Columbia he was raised in London, Ontario and moved to Toronto in 1980. He is a Professor in the Film Department at York University just north of Toronto.
