Dean Hagopian was a singer in a rock band, then a radio announcer in Ottawa and Montréal before becoming an actor. He was working for Montreal radio station CFOX in the mid-1960s but the CFOX call letters are now used by a radio station in Vancouver. As Hagopian recently told Northernstars.ca, “I’m doing now what I wanted to do when I was much younger. I had a plan as far back as pre-high school age. I would start off in radio, make the leap to TV, then catapult to the movies and acting. That start in radio went on for damn near 40 years. However I began acting in Montreal in 1978. It was an old friend, Mark Warren, who directed Laugh-In for a few years who gave me my first shot in film. I truly love everything about it and can’t get enough. Film, TV, post-production, sync, animation… it’s never too late for a happy childhood.” |
