Mary Harron is the daughter of actor Don Harron. She is known recently for her work directing the 6-part Canadian mini-series Alias Grace based on the book by Margaret Atwood and starring Sarah Gadon. The series was adapted and written by Sarah Polley. In October 2018 it was announced that she would receive the prestigious Stockholm Film Festival Lifetime Achievement Award, the Bronze Horse. Her most recent feature, Daliland, is scheduled for release in June 2013.
