Hélène Joy is one of the busiest people working in Canadian television. She starred in the award-winning series Durham County in which she portrayed Audrey Sweeney, bringing her Gemini nominations in 2008 and 2010. She won a 2008 Gemini in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role. Joy was also nominated for the 2011 Monte-Carlo TV Festival Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actress. Most people recognize her as the female lead Dr. Julia Ogden in the series Murdoch Mysteries which has also received several Gemini nominations.Other recent credits include costarring in the CTV pilot Stay With Me, the feature film At the Bottom of the Hill, directed by Vanya Rose, and the play Speaking in Tongues for The Company Theatre in association with Canadian Stage. She made a Guest Appearance on an episode of Murdoch Mysteries as Maud Pedlow in 2005 before returning as a series regular in 2008.
