Jill Hennessy became interested in acting when she was 12. Her first full role was in the movie, Dead Ringers in 1988 in which she appeared with her dead ringer twin sister Jacqueline Hennessy. She studied improvisational comedy with the famed Second City and also worked with a Toronto-based improv comedy troupe before landing a role in the Broadway-bound production of The Buddy Holly Story. She also appeared in the off-Broadway production, Those Summer Nights When the Dark Comes Late. Once in New York, she costarred in Ron Howard’s feature film The Paper, and her career began to get serious. Television audiences remember her for the years she spent playing the role of assistant district attorney Claire Kincaid on the Emmy-winning NBC drama series Law & Order. She starred as First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in the miniseries Jackie, Ethel, Joan: Women of Camelot, and won a Golden Satellite Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Miniseries or a Motion Picture Made for Television for her work in the cable movie Nuremberg. The poster for Dead Ringers was scanned from an original in the Northernstars Collection. It was named Best Film at the 10th annual Genie Awards in 1989. |
