Sitara Hewitt sometimes appears as Tara Hewitt. Born in Fergus, Ontario, she grew up in nearby Elora before moving to Toronto where she now makes her home. She is the daughter of two Wilfrid Laurier professors and is of Welsh and Pakistani descent. She spent part of her childhood living in the Himalayan mountains, where her parents did academic field research.
