Torri Higginson was determined to become an actor and at eighteen moved to England to study her craft at the renowned Guildhall in London. In 2000 she won a Gemini Award for Best Performace by an Actress in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role for her performance as Katherine Stracham in the television series, The City. When she is not in front of the cameras, Higginson can often be found on stage and has appeared in theatres across Canada, including Toronto’s Soulpepper Theatre, the National Arts Centre, Manitoba Theatre Centre (MTC), and the Factory Theatre in Toronto. She played the role of Beatrice in A Noise Within’s production of Much Ado About Nothing in Los Angeles. She was the only person on stage in the one woman play The List which ran in Toronto and Montreal. In 2015 she appeared opposite Paul Gross and Martha Burns in Domesticated, described as a “savagely funny look at sex, power and public shaming.” Torri Higginson plays the role of Claire Malone in the series Transplant.
