Hugh Gibson is a graduate of York University (BFA: Film), and has participated in the Berlinale Talent Campus (’05), TIFF’ s Talent Lab (’06) and TIFF STUDIO (’12). The Stairs is his feature debut as director. The film was selected by the Toronto Film Critics Association as the winner of the prestigious and lucrative Rogers Best Canadian Film Award in January of 2017.
