Born in Paris, Doug Karr grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Doug has worked as a writer/director since 1997. Coming from a background in documentary filmmaking, The Straitjacket Lottery was his first major dramatic effort. He co-directed the documentary Lifecycles with Sierra Bellows.
