Kevin Hanchard, despite his long list of film and television credits, is primarily known for his work on stage. In fact in a 2013 interview with Mississauga.com he said, “I’m primarily a theatre guy and for several years I had built up a resume in the theatre and done a lot of TV and film sporadically in between.” His performances at the Stratford Festival and the Shaw Festival, include productions of Fuenteovejuna, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Topdog/Underdog, The Millionairess and His Girl Friday. He was nominated for the Dora Mavor Moore Award in 2009 for Outstanding Performance by a Male in a Principal Role for Miss Julie: Freedom Summer, and again in 2011 for Topdog/Underdog. On television he is best known for his roles as Det. Arthur Bell in Orphan Black and Inspector Sematimba in The Expanse. |
