Carole Laure, shown above in a publicity still from the 1975 film La tĂŞte de Normande St. Onge, started out in life as Carole Champagne but when she was still a very young girl tragedy hit her family and she was adopted into another family and grew up with six brothers and sisters. She attended school at the local convent and developed a passion for music at an early age and soon proved to be an extremely talented young pianist. After leaving school she became a teacher, but at the age of 20 she began to get involved in film. She is also a talented singer and has released a number of albums and in life and music she is usually linked to composer, Lewis Furey. When it comes to her career in film she is usually associated with director Gilles Carle who cast her in films like La tĂŞte de Normande St. Onge, L’ange et la femme, Fantastica and, Maria Chapdelaine. Laure directed 2002’s Les fils de Marie and 2004’s CQ2 (Seek You Too), which featured her daughter, Clara Furey.
