John L’Euyer’s early life growing up in Montréal was anything but normal. At least not the kind of normal most people would recognize. For a glimpse into that life an the formative years behind this highly successful and talented director you need to read his book, Use Once And Destroy. It is the real-life account of heroin addiction and life on the street. It has been described as a hard-core trip into the depths of Junkieville, a world inhabited only by those seeking their next fix and doing whatever it takes to get it. He directed a 10-minute short with that title in 1995. It would be fascinating to see him direct a feature-length version of this story of his own life. |
