Beatrice Lillie was born at 68 Dovercourt Road in Toronto and attended Gladstone Avenue Public School when Alexander Muir (the man who composed “The Maple Leaf Forever”) was its principal. She published an autobiography, titled Every Other Inch a Lady in 1973.
