A sequel of sorts to Valérie also by Denis Héroux, this time a young woman falls for a married French professor in romantic Montréal. The two spend days together in a hotel and tour the city before he returns to his wife. The woman goes back to her boyfriend who carried on his own affair in her absence. Made during the “tax shelter era,” sometimes referred to as “Canexploitation,” there is enough nudity and adult situations for most viewers. Made for under 100-thousand dollars, it grossed 1.5-million in Canada making it the top Canadian film at the domestic box office for quite some time. Released in the United States as Here and Now, it marked the screen debut of singer Céline Lomez. |
