When Shane, played by Luke Kirby, loses the girl of his dreams, he isn’t just left broken-hearted, he’s also just plain broke. Unlucky at love, Shane is drawn to test his fortune at the casino, where the stakes and the debts get bigger and bigger. He soon finds himself in the hands of a merciless loan shark. Set against the backdrop of the 1972 Canada versus Russia Summit Series, unquestionably the single greatest moment in the history of Canadian hockey, Luck is a nostalgic return to the infamous era of stubby beer bottles and shaggy sideburns. Brought to life with a meticulous eye for period detail, Luck proves that when it comes to gambling, no odds are low enough to bet on the one you love. Fans of Sarah Polley will be a bit disappointed in that she is off screen for most of this four-way buddy movie.
