Although MacInnes studied acting in Canada, he ended up in London doing a post-grad year at LAMDA. He landed roles in a number of US films shot in England including Rollerball, Star Wars, Force Ten from Naverone and Superman II. He was also acting on stage in London’s famed West End. Back in Canada he picked up roles in the film Atlantic City and Witness where he played the bad guy who died in the grain silo. He played the role of Lt. Cmdr. Walter B. Shannon in 25 episodes of Space Island One in 1998.
