Francis Mankiewicz moved with his Polish-born parents to Canada when he was just one year old. He grew up in Montreal and attended McGill University and the Université de Montréal. In 1966 in moved to London, England to study filmmaking returning to Montréal two years later. He first worked in “sponsored films,” what is today called “corporate video,” before releasing his first feature in 1972. Francis Mankiewicz died of cancer. |
