Korbett Matthews studied film and received his MFA in film production at Concordia University in Montreal. His 2002 production, Devouring Buddha was awarded Best Direction for Short to Mid-Length Documentary in the Canadian Spectrum Program at Hot Docs.The Man Who Crossed The Sahara, a look at the life of Canadian filmmaker Frank Cole, was awarded a special jury prize by the Association of Quebec Film Critics as well as the best mid-length documentary award at the Beirut International Film Festival.
