Eric McCormack played Will in the hit TV sitcom, Will & Grace. He won an Emmy for this role in 2001. Born in Toronto, he grew up in Calgary but returned east to attend the Ryerson Theatre School. Convincing his parents he wanted to be an actor was easy. His dad had also wanted to be an actor. From Toronto he headed back to Alberta to attend the Banff Centre for the Arts. Ready to join the ranks of professional actors, McCormack auditioned and was invited to join the Stratford Festival in Ontario, spending five seasons honing his talent. After bouncing back and forth between Alberta and Ontario, he eventually settled in Vancouver, British Columbia. He also maintains a home in Los Angeles, California. Will & Grace was given the People’s Choice Award in January 2005. He opened on Broadway on April 1, 2012 in a revival of the Gore Vidal play Best Man, costarring James Earl Jones and Angela Lansbury. He starred in and co-produced the series Perception, and is pictured above as Dr. Daniel Pierce, a talented, eccentric neuropsychiatrist who happened to be schizophrenic. Will & Grace went back into production in 2017 with all of the original cast, but wrapped in 2020. .
