Born in Toronto, Ontario, Meegwun Fairbrother is Ojibway from the Grassy Narrows First Nation. He has lived in many communities all over north-western Ontario and is a traditional singer and dancer. He is a graduate from the prestigious conservatory acting program at York University and his theatre credits include The Bewitched, directed by Nigel Shawn Williams as part of the Theatre at York season; Pimooteewin (The Journey), a Cree language opera, written by Tomson Highway and directed by Michael Greyeyes, which toured Northern Ontario; 1848, directed by Erika Batdorf for Toronto’s Factory Theatre, and Creon, directed by Vikki Anderson, for the Stone Circle Project. Known for playing the role of Butterhead in 25 episodes of Mohawk Girls, these are his credits for film and television. |
