Michael Kirby’s career began in 1945 when he was 20, playing Capt. John Darrison in the American feature Keep Your Power Dry. Shot on the MGM lot it starred Lana Turner, Susan Peters and Agnes Moorehead. There is a huge gap in his career from 1948 to 1973, which we think, but have no proof, is when he was performing on stage. Someone named Michael Kirby published a book titled “A Formalist Theatre” with the University of Pennsylvania Press in 1987. He began showing up in Canadian films in 1973 and made his last film in 2000. |
