Miss Sloane is the story a ruthless and successful political lobbyist (Jessica Chastain) who is notorious for her unparalleled talent and her desire to win at all costs, even when it puts her own career at risk. As she exposes D.C. lobbyists on both sides of the gun control debate, a new legislation requiring more stringent background checks for gun ownership is created, and she is pitted against the formidable power of her political opponents. The thriller pulls back the curtain on how Capitol Hill games are played and won as Elizabeth Sloane faces off against the most influential powers in D.C. Directed by John Madden (Shakespeare in Love) the film’s release is perfectly timed given the political tumult in the United States in late 2016. Shot in Toronto, Miss Sloane features a large cast of Canadian actors. |
