(2004)
This is the story of Monique Sparvieri (Bonnier) – Québec’s latter-day Bonnie Parker who grew up in a Montreal slum – and the various men in her life, mostly pimps, crooks, and bank robbers, and how she eventually became a notorious bank robber herself. Clichéd and melodramatic, and suffering from its limited budget, it is nevertheless held together by strong, energetic performances, especially Bonnier in the title role. The real life ‘Machine Gun Molly’ was captured by the Montreal police in 1967 during a robbery, and the film is based on her biography by Georges-Hébert Germain
