Jack Walker (Kristen Holden-Ried) has been travelling the world for eight years. A photojournalist who specializes in exposing companies that are responsible for polluting, he has just learned that he`s wanted for torching the offices of a toxic gold mine. And so he arrives in a seaside town on Nova Scotia`s South Shore to see his sister, Olivia (Kathryn MacLellan). Olivia is a single mom who lives a quiet, insulated life with her two children, including her teenage son Thomas (Aaron Webber) who worships his uncle Jack. But why is Jack back after all these years? Olivia is naturally suspicious, especially when Jack starts asking questions about a newly opened factory that`s providing work for the community. Olivia introduces Jack to her friend, Lia (Lisa Ray) who is also a single mom. Soon, old wounds – and new ones – come bubbling to the surface and as the romance heats up, Jack discovers the company is using chemicals that are affecting the town’s residents. Camelia Frieberg, one of Canada’s top film producers (Exotica, Sweet Hereafter, Wilby Wonderful), makes her feature film directorial debut with this movie which won the Best Atlantic Feature at the 2006 Atlantic Film Festival.
