Allan Moyle is a screenwriter, director, producer, and actor. He made his directorial debut in 1977 with The Rubber Gun. That same year he appeared in David Cronenberg’sRabid and had a major supporting role in Richard Benner’s Outrageous! The critics lambasted his next effort, Times Square. Perhaps it was because it was his first studio directing assignment and it turned into such an unpleasant experience that he developed a stress-related disorder that caused all his hair to fall out. Allan left the industry for ten years during which he wrote a novel and several screenplays. He became a sought-after writer-director after the success of Pump Up the Volume which was a box office hit starring Christian Slater. New Waterford Girl received seven Genie nominations from the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television.
