Filmed in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, this horror film is about a murderous coal miner in the U.S. town of Valentine Bluff. Adding a level of gore to the basic horror concept, the miner sends candy boxes containing bloody human hearts to his next victim. The film’s more gory scenes were left on the cutting room floor to get an R rating for U.S. distribution. The film remains a favourite for fans of ‘slasher’ movies.
