Robin Neinstein first went to McGill University and later enrolled at the University of Southern California, where he received a Master of Fine Arts in Motion Picture Producing. In Los Angeles, he administered the development of creative materials for Beacon Pictures and DreamWorks SKG, and the acquisition of independently produced feature films for Twentieth Century Fox and Fox Searchlight. He returned to Canada to focus on film and television production in Canada. Primarily a producer he has been involved in the production of the BBC/CBC/TV5 film, “Le Mozart Noir” which uncovered the lost story of Le Chevalier de Saint-Georges winning the Banff International Television Award as well as being nominated for five Gemini Awards, including Best Arts Documentary or Performing Arts Special. Souvenir of Canada is based on the bestselling book by Douglas Coupland, who also acts as a sort of host or guide as he offers candid anecdotes of his Canadian upbringing and reveals what being Canadian means to him. |
