
B: March 16, 1951 in London, Ontario
Born Patricia Colleen Nelligan, Kate Nelligan was enrolled at the University of Toronto but transferred to the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, England. She made her first professional stage appearance in 1973 with an Old Vic company production in Bristol. One year later she made her London stage debut. While her first screen debut was in The Romantic Englishwoman, she is usually remembered for her second feature in the role of Lucy opposite Frank Langella in the 1979 version of Dracula. Later in her career she played exceptionally strong characters in such movies as Frankie & Johnny, Margaret`s Museum, and The Cider House Rules.
