Catherine O’Hara got her start waiting tables at the Second City Theatre in Toronto. It was her way of getting a foot in the door. Second City believed in O’Hara’s talent enough to keep her on as a cast member. She went on to fame with SCTV joining cast members Rick Moranis, Martin Short, John Candy, Eugene Levy, Joe Flaherty and Andrea Martin. Catherine O’Hara provides the voice of Grandma Frump in the 2019 MGM release The Addams Family. It was announced in February 2020 that Catherine O’Hara will be honoured with a Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award (Broadcasting and Film) at the annual Governor General’s Peformance Art Awards in April of 2020. O’Hara was honoured wih a Best Television Actress – Musical/Comedy Series award at the 2021 Golden Globes for her work in Schitt’s Creek.

Catherine O’Hara is pictured at the 2023 Canadian Screen Awards. She won a 2017 Canadian Screen Award for her work on Schitt’s Creek. She also won an Emmy Award in 2020 for her work on this series.
