Born in Scotland, Patricia Gage moved to Canada and began her on-camera career, appearing as Pat Gage, in an episode of the TV series Littlest Hobo in 1963. She received a Gemini Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Dramatic Program or Mini-series in 1998 for her work in Dangerous Offender. She played the recurring role of Judge Morton on the series Street Legal showing up eight episodes over five years and was the voice of Marilla Cuthbert in Anne of Green Gables: The Animated Series in 22 episodes between 2000 and 2002. Gage was married to British-born actor-director Paxton Whitehead who came to Canada to appear on stage in the 1965 Manitoba Theatre Centre production of Heartbreak House. The following year he became a member of the Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, serving as its artistic director from 1967 to 1977. |
