Acting in both English and French, Donald Pilon has become a fixture in Canadian film and television since 1968 when he and his brother, Daniel, were offered the roles of twins by director Gilles Carle for his movie, La viol d’une jeune fille douce. Donald Pilon went on to appear in 9 more Gilles Carle films including La vraie nature de Bernadette, which brought the Best Supporting Actor Genie as well as a nomination at the Cannes Film Festival. He also acted for Claude Fournier, Jean-Claude Labrecque, Denys Arcand, Marc-André Forcier, Denise Filiatrault, and recently for Jean-François Pouliot in La Grande Séduction. His many English films include The Pyx, City on Fire, and Keeping Track which was directed by Robin Spry. In addition to film and television work, Donald Pilon is also a busy stage actor. A small sampling of his stage credits dating back to 1972 includes roles in Harold et Maude directed by Jean Salvy, Sous-sol à louer and Tricoté serré both directed by André Montmorency, and On court toujours après l’amour directed by Gilbert Lepage. In 1998, he was in Silence en coulisse directed by Serge Denoncourt, followed by a roles in Haute Fidélité in 1999 and in La Cage aux folles in 2000. Also see Daniel Pilon |
