R.T. Thorne shot his first music video in 2005 for Kardinal Offishall and would go on to make many more until 2014. By then he had shot a few short films and a made-for-TV movie. Sometimes credited as Randall Thorne and sometimes just as RT! we stopped counting after he had collected some 18 filmmaking awards for his work, virtually all of it for television. He has helmed projects for Netflix, Disney, HULU, NBCUniversal and CBC. In 2015 he won best short film at the Canada Film Festival for The Time Traveler. In 2018, Thorne was the recipient of Telefilm’s Talent to Watch fund and was accepted to the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival Talent Lab. He is pictured when he was the creator, executive producer, writer and director of Utopia Falls, a CBC Gem original series. He serves as Executive Producer, co-director and co-screenwriter on the 2022 mini-series The Porter. We list his credits beginning with his first short film in 2011. |
