B: February 28, 1950 in Ottawa, Ontario

Peter Raymont is a Producer, Director and Writer. He began his career when he was 21 at the National Film Board of Canada in Montreal. While there he also taught film and video production in the Canadian Arctic. In 1978, Raymont moved to Toronto and established an independent film and television production company, now known as White Pine Pictures. He co-partnered the company for many years with his late wife, award-winning filmmaker and author, Lindalee Tracey. His multi-award winning documentary, Shake Hands with the Devil:The Journey of Romeo Dallairewon a prestigious Emmy Award and his filmA Promise to the Dead: The Exile Journey of Ariel Dorfman had its world premiere at the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival. It went on to be short-listed for an Academy Award for Best Documentary and was honoured with the Donald Brittain Award for Best Social-Political Documentary by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. His 2009 production, Genius Within – The Inner Life of Glenn Gould was named Best Biography Documentary Program at the 25th annual Gemini Awards in 2010.
