Velcrow Ripper is a Genie Award-winning filmmaker, writer, web artist and sound designer. The youngest of four children, his parents practiced the Baha’i faith, which he credits with helping to shape his world view. After graduating from Concordia University in Montréal, he apprenticed at the National Film Board, where he pursued his interests in social-issue documentary and experimental film. He has worked as a director, camera operator, sound design and sound editor. On the 2004 production, ScaredSacred, he served as director, writer, cinematographer, editor and soundman. His documentary, Occupy Love was awarded Best Canadian Feature Film at the Planet In Focus Film Festival in 2012. The following credits are for films he directed or co-directed.
